    THE ARAB PRIME MINISTERS CONFERENCE OPENED IN CAIRO LAST NIGHT AND TODAY (TUESDAY) ARAB PREMIERS HELD A PRIVATE SESSION IN WHICH THEY ARE BELIEVED TO HAVE DISCUSSED ARAB RELATIONS WITH WEST GERMANY.

    MANY ARAB COUNTRIES BROKE OFF RELATIONS IN WEST GERMANY WHEN THE WEST GERMAN FEDERAL GOVERNMENT RECOGNISED ISRAEL A YEAR AGO. TODAY'S TALK DISCUSSED ARAB RELATIONS WITH WEST GERMANY IN CONTEXT WITH ARAB RELATIONS WITH OTHER COUNTRIES WHO ALSO RECOGNISE ISRAEL. RELATIONS WITH WEST GERMANY WERE ALSO DISCUSSED LAST WEEK WHEN ARAB FOREIGN MINISTERS MET TO PREPARE THE AGENDA FOR THE CONFERENCE.

    IT IS REPORTED THAT THE CONFERENCE HAS DECIDED TO GO AHEAD WITH A PLAN TO INVITE THE UNITED NATIONS SECRETARY GENERAL, U THANT, TO VISIT PALESTINE REFUGE CAMPS. THEY TOOK THE DECISION DURING DISCUSSIONS ON THE FAILURE OF THE U.N. RELIEF AND WORKS AGENCY (UNRWA) TO MEET REFUGES REQUIREMENTS FULLY BECAUSE OF SHORTAGE OF MONEY.

    ALL THE ARAB LEAGUE MEMBERS ARE REPRESENTED AT THE CONFERENCE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF TUNISIA WHICH IS CONTINUING TO BOYCOTT ARAB LEAGUE MEETINGS. FOUR COUNTRIES ARE NOT REPRESENTED BY THEIR PRIME MINISTERS. THEY ARE SAUDI ARABIA, MOROCCO, ALGERIA AND LIBYA.
