Background: Shortly after resuming full-scale bombing of North Vietnam this year, the United States introduced a new type of guided bomb -- homed onto its target by television. Department of Defence shows a new missile based on the same principle being tested. It's the Maverick missile, which experts claim can hit anything it can see.
The missile "sees" by means of a small television camera mounted in the nose. This guides the eight-foot long, 500-pond missile onto its target. Experts say the Maverick is equally effective against stationary and moving targets.
