    THE TWO PRESIDENTS FLEW INTO LAGOS ON WEDNESDAY FOR TALKS WITH SIR ABUBAKAR TAFAWA BALEWA, THE NIGERIAN PRIME MINISTER. THE DISCUSSIONS CENTRED AROUND GHANA AND THE FORTHCOMING ORGANISATION OF AFRICAN UNITY CONFERENCE.

    PRESIDENT DIORI SAID AT TODAY'S JOINT PRESS CONFERENCE THAT THE NIGERIAN PRIME MINISTER WOULD NOT ATTEND THE MEETING IN ACCRA AS LONG AS SUBVERSIVE ELEMENTS WERE HARBOURED THERE.

    THE PRESIDENT OF UPPER VOLTA ADDED THAT THEY WERE NOT BOYCOTTING THE CONFERENCE AS SUCH. HE SAID: "NKRUMAH IS BOYCOTTING HIS OWN CONFERENCE BY KEEPING AND ENTERTAINING REBELS AND PEOPLE WHO ARE HOSTILE TO US AND WANT TO ASSASSINATE US".

    IN A LETTER PUBLISHED IN ACCRA YESTERDAY PRESIDENT NKRUMAH EXPRESSED "SHOCK AN HORROR" AT A STATEMENT INVOLVING HIM WITH THE BOMB ATTEMPT ON PRESIDENT DIORI'S LIFE IN NIAMEY LAST WEEK.

    THE NIGER JUSTICE MINISTER, M. ISSOFOU DJERMAKOYE, SAID A MAN DETAINED AFTER THE ATTEMPT HAD ADMITTED BEING GIVEN REFUGE IN GHANA WHEN HE RETURNED FROM PEKING.
