    AT A DINNER ADDRESS AT THE CLEVELAND-SHERATON HOTEL ON MONDAY NIGHT (8 JUNE), MR. EISENHOWER AVOIDED NATIONAL POLITICS AND CALLED ON THE GOVERNORS TO APPLY A CHECK ON FEDERAL POWER BY EXERCISING THE POWER OF STATE GOVERNMENT.

    THE CONFERENCE WAS PICKETED BY MEMBERS OF THE CONGRESS OF RACIAL EQUALITY BEARING PLACARDS PROTESTING DISCRIMINATION AND POVERTY IN CLEVELAND.
