    THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE GATHERED ON THE SEAFRONT TO SEE PRESIDENT TITO SAIL INTO THE HARBOUR ON HIS FIRST VISIT TO ALGERIA.THE PRESIDENTIAL YACHT "GALEB" WAS ESCORTED BY TWO YUGOSLAV NAVY DESTROYERS.

    THE BOOMING OF A 21-GUN SALUTE ECHOED ACROSS THE CITY AS THE YUGOSLAV LEADER STEPPED ASHORE AND WAS GREETED BY PRESIDENT AHMED BEN BELLA.

    ON HIS ARRIVAL, PRESIDENT TITO SAID THAT SINCE PEACE IN THE WORLD WAS INDIVISIBLE, THE PRACTICE OF COEXISTENCE MUST BE UNIVERSAL.HE REPEATED HIS CONVICTION THAT NEGOTIATION WAS THE ONLY REAL WAY IN WHICH THE PROBLEM COULD BE SOLVED AND AN END BROUGHT TO THE SUFFERINGS OF THE VIETNAMESE PEOPLE.PRESIDENT BEN BELLA, IN HIS SPEECH OF WELCOME, SAID THAT IMPERIALISM WAS TRYING TO IMPOSE ITS LAWS IN VIETNAM AS ELSEWHERE.

    THE TWO HEADS OF STATE MET FOR THEIR FIRST ROUND OF TALKS IN THE AFTERNOON.THEIR DISCUSSIONS LASTED AN HOUR AND A HALF AND WERE REPORTED TO HAVE COVERED WORLD PROBLEMS IN GENERAL.ALGERIAN OFFICIAL SOURCES SAY THE WEEK-LONG TALKS WILL BE CENTRED ON AREAS OF WORLD TENSION, PARTICULARLY IN THE CONGO, SOUTH EAST ASIA, AND PALESTINE.
