  • Description

A thousand workers at Southampton stopped work on Saturday morning,June 7th.---for the second day running---to consider their attitude to the London dock strike. On Friday, they voted not to come out in sympathy;on Saturday morning they decided to send a delegation to London to report on the latest position. The meeting lasted an hour, then they went back to work.

Southampton docks present a different picture from the ones we've been seeing in the past weeks at London, along the Thames. Here orates of oranges are swinging ashore,on their way to the markets and shops. The men had another meeting on Monday,June 9th. to decide whether to keep working.
