Background: Four bombs exploded in the Israeli seaside town of Nathanya, 13 miles (20 kilometres) north of Tel Aviv, on Monday (14 September). The explosions caused some damage in the centre of the town but no one was injured.

One of the bombs exploded under a water pipe near the beach. Two others were placed in rubbish cans and the fourth in the street.

A car was damaged when a tree breach -- cut loose by the explosion -- fell on it. The doors and windows in nearby buildings were also damaged.

Israeli security forces rushed to the area and are now investigating the matter in Central Israel and the nearby areas of the occupied West Bank of Jordan.

Hundreds of Arabs from the nearby cities and villages in the occupied West Bank visit the beaches of Nathanya daily.
