    REPAIR WORKERS AT THE TEMA DOCKYARD IN GHANA THIS WEEK TACKLED THEIR LARGEST JOB SO FAR - THE 16,000-TON FRENCH OIL FREIGHTER EQUATORIAL. THE EQUATORIAL, 480 FEET (146 M.) LONG, IS THE LARGEST TANKER TO DOCK AT THE TEMA DRYDOCK.

    THE SHIP IS THE SECOND OWNED BY THE PETROMER COMPANY OF BORDEAUX TO DOCK IN A GHANAIAN PORT FOR REPAIRS. AMONG THE WORKING CREW ARE FRENCH ENGINEERS AND TECHNICIANS, WELDERS, ELECTRICIANS AND PLUMBERS.

    REPAIRS ARE BEING MADE TO THE ENGINE ROOMS, AND DECKWORK IS BEING SCRAPED OFF AND REPAINTED.

    THE REPAIRS ARE EXPECTED TO TAKE EIGHT DAYS, AND THE EQUATORIAL WILL THEN SET OFF FOR ABIDJAN.
