The 1957 international Macro-Plastics exhibition which opened in Amsterdam on November 13 presents new and starting developments in an industry which, since the war, has exerted an ever-increasing influence on commercial and domestic life alike.

These trends are exemplified in displays of materials for the modern home:-table were, kitchen equipment. And to offset this, there is plastic clothing which provides protection against liquid propellants for rocket engines.

There are Plastics for the motor industry - dashboards, reflectors distributor caps, horn buttons: plastics for the chemical, radio-engineering and textile industries.

One of the most remarkable demonstration of the strength of modern plastic is the display of a farm tractor, weighing more than a ton, which is suspended by eleven bands of transparent film, each ten inches wide and only two-thousand the of an inch thick.

This is a British material, produced by ICI, under the trade name 'Helinex'.

Bristol Aircraft Limited show a rocket motor tube and pressure vessel used in aircraft and guided missiles.
