Background: Secondary and technical schools which had been closed by the Dahomey Education Ministry following a strike by students earlier this month, are to re-open of Friday (November 19).

Students will now be required to attend their schools on Friday with a percent to tutor and sign an agreement pledging not to become involved in any strike or action prejudicial to the school.

The school re-opening was announced to a special meeting in the township of Abomey last Friday (November 12) by a member of Dahomey's Presidential Commission, Dr. Justin Ahomadegbe. Dr. Ahomadegbe told a crowd gathered in the town's Singbodji Place that a stop must be put to anarchists operating in Dahomey.
