    Background: Heavyweight champion Cassius Clay -- who hasn't had a real battle in the ring in a couple of years -- insists he did not try to goad two Chicago policemen into a street fight. Clay was arrested yesterday on a charge of disorderly conduct when he and three other men were stopped while driving a car without city or state licenses. Clay said a friend had just bought it and did not have time to get them.

    But one of the arresting officers, Thomas Faragoi, said Clay became arrogant and boisterous and claimed the police couldn't stop him because he's "Champion of the World." NBC's Charles McCuen talked with Faragoi right after the arrest, and Johnny Erp of NBC Sports reached Clay for a rebuttal this morning. Here are the interviews. with the officer first:
