Sleep - a significant but unofficial part of many international conferences - is a major feature of the programme of the first International Congress on the Release of Tension, which opened in Copenhagen July 30th.

The delegates from 16 countries who have come to study the laws of relaxation and tension and their relation to education, spend two hours each day asleep on mats on the floor of the school gymnasium where the Congress is being held.

At the opening session a demonstration of various exercises which help relieve tension was given by Miss elizabeth Zopp, famous Austrian physical training instructress.

The Congress is held under the auspices of the Danish Ministry of Education.
