Background: President Abdel Rahman Arif of Iraq, who is making a tour of the Middle-East countries, arrived in Jordan today for talks with King Hussein on the situation following the Arab-Israeli war. President Arif was met at Amman airport by the King and his Cabinet.
President Arif and King Hussein began work soon after the formalities with a 90-minute session of talks.
An official source said they "discussed ways of eliminating the consequences of Israeli aggression" on Arab territories, and the best means of strengthening Arab solidarity.
President Arif had arrived in Jordan fresh from Damascus and talks with the Syrian Head of State, Nureddin El-Atassi. Tomorrow, the Syrian leader, as part of the round of talks now going on in the Middle East, will have meeting with President Tito of Yugoslavia, who is currently visiting the UAR.
