    THE UNITED NATIONS FOOD AND AGRICULTURE ORGANISATION (F.A.O) MEETS NEXT WEEK TO BEGIN CHARTING ITS FIGHT AGAINST WORLD HUNGER AND MALNUTRITION FOR THE NEXT TWO YEARS. DELEGATES OF THE 104 MEMBER NATIONS GATHERED AT THE F.A.O. HEADQUARTERS IN ROME THIS WEEKEND (NOV 16-17) IN READINESS FOR THEIR BIENNIAL CONFERENCE WHICH STARTS ON MONDAY (NOV 18).

    DELEGATES WILL DISCUSS BOTH THEIR OWN AND GLOBAL FOOD PROBLEMS DURING THE TWO-WEEK CONFERENCE. ALSO ON THE AGENDA: THE USE OF ATOMIC ENERGY IN PLANT BREEDING AND FOOD PRESERVATION, ANIMAL HEALTH, THE LOCUST PROBLEM AND IMPROVED AGRICULTURAL METHODS.

    OTHER SUBJECTS LISTED FOR DISCUSSION INCLUDE EXPANSION OF WORK ON NUTRITION IN AFRICA, AND RECOMMENDATIONS MADE AT A RECENT WORLD FOOD CONGRESS IN SUPPORT OF THE F.A.O. FREEDOM FROM HUNGER CAMPAIGN.
