    THE NEWS WAS GIVEN TONIGHT (THURSDAY) TO THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY ANNUAL CONFERENCE IN BLACKPOOL, JUST A FEW HOURS AFTER THE PRIME MINISTER'S SUCCESSFUL OPERATION.
