  • Description

From White House's south lawn, President Eisenhower, his guest, Soviet Premier Kruschev, and their respective advisers flew by the helicopter to Camp David, Maryland, September 25.

In a luxurious mountain cabin, Aspen Lodge, the statesmen will have nearly three days of private talks. They will not, President Eisenhower earlier said, negotiate. They will not, said Premier Kruschev, deal with matters appertaining to third parties.

Earlier Mr. Kruschev told reporters he thought this USA tour had contributed to reducing tensions "to a certain degree". He expressed hope that President Eisenhower would spend more time in Russia than he had in America.

At Camp David are top-level advisers and the two foreign Ministers Mr. Herter and Mr. Gromyko.
