    Background: Seoul, Korea, celebrations to mark the 55th anniversary of the Young Men's Christian Association, coincided with efforts to rise funds to rebuild the YMCA building, completely destroyed during the Korean war.

    October 25, day of the celebrations, President Syngman Rhee addressed a mass rally at the Capital Grounds, in down-town Seoul.

    After the rally students and other citizens paraded through the streets bearing "Let's Rebuild" banners.

    Half the money for the planned five-story building has been guaranteed by the Canadian and American YMCAs.
