    The ninth International Acropolis Rally - over a 2,700-kilometre hard course through northern and central Greece - ended May 23. Eighty-three cars from 12 countries had been on the road for two days.

    Only 43 cars completed the course, and took part in the circuit race at Tatoi and the climbing race at Mount Parnis, near Athens. The awards to winning competitors were presented by Mr. C. Tsatsos, Minister to the Greek Prime Minister, on the Hill of Philopappus (appropriately facing the Acropolis itself) in Athens.

    Swedish driver E. Carlsson, in a "Saab 96", won first place with 468.859 penalty points. Second with 718.246 points was another Swede - G. Anderson, in a "Volvo P554". In third place was P. Riley of Britain in an "Austin Healey 3000" with 817.964 points; and fourth was E. Bohringer of West Germany in a "Mercedes 220SEB" with 896.164 points. The Women's Cup was won for Sweden by Mrs. E. Roseqwist driving a "Volvo 544". She cane seventh with 1.268.708 penalty points.
