  • Description

While Stavros Niarchos is threatening to transfer his Scaramanga Bay Hellenic Shipyards to Tangers, Aristotle Onassis, the other Greek Shipping Magnate, refuses to sign the new Olympic contract with the Greek Government after the amendment made on the draft law recently passed by the Parliamentary Recess Committee. This means that Onassis might abandon the Olympic Aviation. One of the many problems of the draft law is the replacement of the "old-timers" DC3, better known as "Dakotas" war-plane, which were leased to the Olympic by the Government for internal air communications. And the only suitable for the greek skies and fields -- according to the Greek experts -- is the" Avro 748" which has been exhibited yesterday in Athens. The Chief of the Hellenic Airforce General Staff Vice-Air-Comm.Dukas, High Government Officials, Airforce officers, the British Ambassador Sir Ralph Murray, the Press, etc. attended at the exhibition of the" Avro". Many of the Greek officials piloted the plane over Attica.
