SYNOPSIS: Hong Kong, the world's biggest clothing exporter after Italy, is the setting this week for a marathon week-long fashion festival - the biggest fashion splash ever seen in Asia.
During the festival, sponsored by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council to boost garment sales 2,500 creations are being displayed by models from several continents. Every type of dress is being shown -- from casual daywear to sophisticated evening gowns... and the latest in hot-pants, of course. Accent is on colour and daring design.
Here's a quick look at what's happening...Anna-Maria Wong, from Hong Kong, shows the latest hot-pants in white with split midi dress....
Monica Ragby, Sweden, in a beautifully knitted midi-coat over matching slacks......
Britain's Linda Bradford...and an elegant silk quilted hostess gown shot with gold thread.....
A mulberry maxi dress, worn by Elena di Castri from Italy....
Another British girl, Deborah Wright-Nooth, in an orange kaftan over pants....
Ritsuko Kai, Japan, the current "Model of the World", in hooded day dress with split sides.
Last year, Hong Kong shipped 700 million (U.S.) dollars worth of clothes overseas......and their clothes look pretty good this year too.
