    The Sino-Nepalese Boundary Commission - set up in Peking last March after discussions between Premiers Koirala and Chou En-lai - held its inaugural session, Katmandu, Nepal, Aug 11. Nepalese Deputy Premier, General Subarna Shamsher, made the opening speech, telling the Commission it would have to locate the traditional boundary and study divergent views on location both on the spot and in the conference room. China's first ambassador to Nepal, Chang Shih Chieh - he arrived in Katmandu Aug 2 - led China's Commission members.

    A prompt settlement of the Sino-Nepalese boundary dispute seemed necessary after the June 28 Muctang Incident, when Chinese bandits', and killed an officer. Nepalese authorities maintained Chinese troops were on Nepalese territory.
