    A bomb blast wrecked a factory in Belfast, troubled capital of Northern Ireland, on Friday (May 12) -- and the fire which followed almost immediately afterwards razed the building to the ground. The factory, which employed between thirty and forty people, manufactured handkerchiefs -- and it was the presence of large stocks of textiles which gave the fire a hold on the building.

    Houses nearby were evacuated before the explosion, and no-one was injured in the blast. The bomb contained between thirty and fifty pounds of gelignite.

    The blast was on of several on Friday in the troubled Northern Irish capital. The bomb contained between thirty and fifty pounds of gelignite and the factory, used to manufacture handkerchiefs and full of textile stocks, caught fire almost immediately. Houses nearby had been evacuated before the explosion, and no-one was hurt. But the thirty of forty employers will now have to find other jobs. They join a growing list of bombed-out workers in the British province.
