  • Description

It has been estimated that four hundred thousand members of the Catholic Party turned out in Brussels today to demonstrate in the centre of the town, as part of the pre-elect a government. For the last four years, since the last elections, the Socialist party led by Prime Minister M. Van Ackere, has been in power, but the Catholics Party means to alter that at the next election.

Communications in the centre of Brussels were completely disrupted and traffic brought to a standstill by the 'demonstration' in which both Flemish and Walloons took part. At the close of the speeches, the leaders were carried in triumph through the streets.
