    THERE ARE ABOUT 3,000 STUDENTS AT THE 2000 MILLION CFA FRANCS (ABOUT GBP3 MILLION STERLING) UNIVERSITY, WHICH HAS BEEN BUILT WITH THE HELP FROM FRANCE. M. BOURGES REPRESENTED THE FRENCH GOVERNMENT AND GENERAL DE GAULLE AT THE INAUGURATION CEREMONIES.
