    The Kenyan National football team was taken to meet President Kenyatta of Kenya when they returned home after winning the East and Central African Challenge Cup. The team returned to Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, on Tuesday (11 November) the day before they met President Kenyatta.

    When the team arrived back home they were greeted by government officials and a large cheering crowd. They were then driven through the streets of Nairobi on the back of a large open lorry.

    Later the victorious players were given a reception at a city hotel.

    They took with them the trophy they had won to show President Kenyatta. The President told the team that they had made all Kenya proud and he, personally, was one of the proudest.

    SYNOPSIS: President Kenyatta of Kenya greeted the victorious Kenyan National football team at the Presidential Palace outside Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. The team had returned to Kenya the previous day after winning the Eat and Central African Challenge Cup, the symbol of soccer supremacy in Eastern Africa.

    The large trophy the team had won was shown to President Kenyatta by the players. The day before the cup had been carried aloft through the streets of Nairobi to the delight of the large cheering crowds.

    President Kenyatta told the players that they had made all Kenyans proud and added, "I am one of the proudest".
