The protest was held in torrential rain during the City's heaviest monsoon downpour this year.

The demonstrator came from about a dozen different Indian states, and called for an immediate settlement of the Pakistan crisis by recognising Bangla Desh. When police stepped in to prevent the crowd from becoming violent, they were invito to arrest the demonstrators. They did.

The spirit of the demonstrators was not quenched, however, and those not arrested said they would continue the 12-day protest.
