    MEMBERS OF THE GHANA POLICE SERVICE HAVE PRESENTED A CHEQUE FOR 7,500 NEW CEDIS (GBP3,750 STERLING) TO THE KOTOKA TRUST FUND. THE PRESENTATION WAS MADE ON THEIR BEHALF BY MR. NUNOO, THE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE AT A CEREMONY IN THE ARTS CENTRE IN ACCRA.

    THE CHEQUE WAS RECEIVED BY THE CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES, MR JUSTICE NII AMAA OLLENU. OTHER MEMBERS OF THE BOARD WHO ATTENDED WERE MRS ADELINE AKUFFO ADDO, MRS MERCY BANNERMAN AND MR FIXON OWOO, WHO IS SECRETARY OF THE BOARD. MRS AKUFFO ADDO GAVE A RECEIPT FOR THE DONATION TO MR NUNOO.

    THE TRUST FUND HAS BEEN SET UP TO COMMEMORATE GENERAL KOTOKA, ONE OF THE GHANA ARMY OFFICERS WHO DIED IN AN ABORTIVE COUP EARLIER THIS YEAR.

    SHORTLY AFTER THE CEREMONY, MR ENOCH MENSAH, A COMPOSER AND REGIONAL ORGANISER OF THE INSTITUTE OF ARTS AND CULTURE PRESENTED A RECORD IN MEMORY OF THE LATE GENERAL TO MR. JUSTICE OLLENU. PROCEEDS FROM THE SALE OF THE RECORD WILL BE IN AID OF THE FUND.
