    The first major international competition of the 1975 Scottish Curling season, the Johnny Walker International, ended in a victory for a Canadian team in the final against Scotland.

    The Canadian team, drawn from servicemen in Germany was brilliantly captained by Gerry Edwarson. The team took the lead from the start and didn't allow the Scots, captained by Eric Brown, to level the score. The Canadians won seven-four.

    The Canadian form was much better than in the semi-final when they narrowly beat a West German team.

    The Scots had Reached the final by impressively beating another Canadian forces team.

    The form of the Canadians in the final has given heart to members of the Canadian national team which will take part in the World Curling championships at Perth in Scotland on March the 17th.
