Background: Another Flight Test Vehicle in the POLARIS Ballistic Missile Development Program was launched at 3:28 P.M. (EDT), 8 May 1959, at the Atlantic Missile Range, Cape Canaver 1, Florida.
The launching continued the series of advanced component tests begun last September. Primary objectives were separation of the first and second stages, flight control reactions, and systems performance of the solid propellant motors.
Preliminary telemetry data received during the test flight indicated that all test objectives were achieved.
