  • Description

One of the world's greatest living boxers, Archie Moor of the United States, is now living in Nigeria, and looking for future champions on the streets of Lagos. Apart from "Sugar"Ray Robinson, he's considered the world's greatest boxer over the last 25 years. Moore held the world light-heavyweight title for 10 years until 1962. Here's what he was like in his heyday, against Yves Durelle in Montreal.

SYNOPSIS: Nineteen fifty-eight, and Moore defends his little.

Today, Archie Moore is an athletic sixty-four years old, but he still makes his living in the ring, now as Nigeria's assistant national coach. His main interest lies in training Nigeria's champions of the future. So it's not surprising to find him on first-name terms with young hopefuls in Lagos.

With over two hundred bouts to his credit, Archie Moore has a lot of knowledge to impart. His training programme is based on proactive, like this, and more practice. He believes that's the key to success. The more you box, the better you become. In fights like this, he's continually looking for potential champions. He's been in Nigeria for two years, and is probably the best known and best like foreigner in a country whose colonial past often causes people to suspect outsiders. Perhaps that's why Archie Moor has no intentions of leaving.
