At the Arab League premises in Cairo yesterday (Tuesday, March 23), the U.A.R. Minister of Social Affairs El Sayed Hafez Badawi deputised for President Sadat at the inauguration of the First Arab Social Affairs Conference. The three-day conference is being attended by 13 Foreign Ministers at the heads of delegations from Jordan, Tunisia, Sudan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Kuwait, Lebanon, the UAR, the Palestine Liberation Organisation and the three Arab Emirates. Among the various points on the agenda is the Social Action Charter which is to provide for the setup of an Arab social planning council and a joint Arab fund to finance research and experimental work.
