  • Description

The flags were out in the little Dutch village of Putten for the unusual home-coming of the Haanschoten family who achieved unwelcome fame some months ago when their little daughter Joke (aged 4) was treated in the Academic Hospital in Utecht for radio-activity. The illness was caused by the head of a treatment needle left in her nasal cavity. The house and the garden were isolated while the whole family were rushed into hospital for observation. Rapidly there have been no ill-effects, though some of the families former possession were dumped into the sea because of radio-activity. All ended well with their homecoming -- to a newly furnished and decorated house.
