The main item on the agenda was financing an Afro-Malagasy Centre to be built in Paris. It will be used as an information centre for the promotion of trade and tourism for member countries.

The discussions also covered the possibilities of organising special courses for chamber of commerce officials from the member nations.

The conference, held at the Chamber of Commerce in Abidjan, was opened by the Ivory Coast's Minister of Commerce, M. Sery Gnoleba.

The organisation was formed basically to promote and organise exchanges of commercial, technical and professional information among the French-speaking African countries, France and the Malagasy Republic.
