Background: President Jean Bedel Bokassa of the Central African Republic laid wreathes at the Lenin Mausoleum in Moscow on Thursday (2 July) and also at the tomb of the unknown soldier.
President Bokassa heads a 23-man delegation which arrived in the Soviet capital on Wednesday (1 July) for a 10 day visit at the invitation of the Soviet Government.
The delegation has been holding talks with top-level Soviet officials including President Nikolai Podgorny, and will probably discuss an economic and technical agreement. At present, the Soviet Union and the Central African Republic have an aviation agreement, under which the Soviet Airline Aeroflot flies to the C.A.R.
After the laying the wreathes in Moscow President Bokassa flew to Leningrad for a three day visit to tour industrial projects.
