  • Description

Though life in Havana goes on normally, the atmosphere of the Cuban capital is tense. The threat of a general strike has receded but the Batista Government is in a constant state of alert against the latest turn of Fidel Castro's rebellions activities. One of the more recent outrages of the rebel leader's supporters was to set fire to sugar cane fields. This was a measure aimed to force Batista's hand by undermining the Cuban economy. These scenes were shot in Oriente Province in Southern Cuba, near Castro's rebel headquarters.
