    During christening ceremonies at Boeing Field, Seattle, Washington, the name "Chateau de Versailles" was given to the first Air France intercontinental jet, Oct 21.

    The giant plane represents delivery of the first Boeing long-range jet to a foreign carrier. Henri J. Lesieur, airline executive, accepts delivery of the huge jet, while Mrs. Rosellini, wife of Governor Albert D.Rosellini, prepares to swing the champagne bottle.

    This intercontinental jet will be flown non-stop from Seattle to Paris, a distance of 5,693 miles. The airline will place the 707 intercontinental jet in non-stop service between New York and Paris in January 1960, with jet service from the West Coast to Europe slated for spring 1960.
