Background: The Aga Khan, accompanied by his mother, Princess Joan Aly Khan, arrived in New Delhi on March 9 from London on a two-day visit to the capital as a state guest. The Aga Khan was on his way to Bombay in connection with his installation ceremony on March 11 as the 49th Imam of the Shia Imami Ismailis in India. He was received at the airport by the Chief of the Protocol and leaders of all India and Local Ismailis organisations. The following mornings, the Aga Khan visited the Rajghat and laid a wreath on Gandhi' shrine. Later he drove to the Juma Mosque.
