Boxing promoter, Don King, has hinted that Muhammad Ali's next title fight may be in Teheran. King said that Ali preferred to hold his next fight in Teheran before the Shah. But he added that the fight could also be in Hong Kong, the Portuguese colony of Macao, or even the United States.
It was Don King who promoted last week's bruising battle between Ali and Joe Frazier at the Coliseum in Quezon City in the Philippines. The fight may have made more than 18 million dollars (8.5 million pounds sterling.) Asked what Ali would receive for his next title fight, King replied, "a mere six or seven million dollars -- nothing big or extraordinary".
He said that the likely challenger for Ali's title would be the former World Champion, George Foreman, but added that Ken Norton, who once broke Ali's jaw, was also in the running.
Despite the fact that Ali said after his last fight that he was considering retirement, King said he thought the Champion would fight at least one more time.
