    THE MEETING TOOK PLACE AT THE PALAIS DEL L'OTAN.CHIEF U.S DELEGATE WAS SECRETARY OF STATE DEAN RUSK, WHO MADE A FORCEFUL PLEA TODAY IN FAVOUR OF A MIXED-MANNED FORCE OF SURFACE SHIPS ARMED WITH POLARIS MISSILES.

    BELGIUM'S FOREIGN MINISTER, M.PAUL-HENRI SPAAK, WAS ALSO THERE ALONG WITH HIS WEST GERMAN COUNTERPART, DR GERHARD SCHROEDER, WHO HEARD MINISTERS REITERATE THEIR DETERMINATION TO DEFEND AND MAINTAIN THE FREEDOM OF WEST BERLIN AND ITS PEOPLE.

    ANOTHER INTERNATIONAL MEETING WHICH ENDED IN PARIS TONIGHT WAS THAT OF THE ORGANIZATION FOR ECONOMIC CO-OPERATION AND DEVELOPMENT (OECD).FILM SHOWS YESTERDAY'S OPENING.DELEGATES FROM TEN COUNTRIES DISCUSSED WAYS OF IMPROVING REPAYMENTS BETWEEN VARIOUS NATIONS.THEY ALSO TALKED ABOUT OTHER WORLD MONETARY PROBLEMS, POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS TO WHICH WILL BE SUBMITTED TO NEXT SEPTEMBER'S ANNUAL MEETING IN TOKYO OF THE WORLD BANK AND INTERNATIONAL MONETARY FUND.
