    Ghana Peace Council President Mr. Johnny Hansen told a visiting Afro-Asian Peoples Solidarity Organisation delegation in Accra on Wednesday (January 16) that Ghana hopes to play a leading role in the organisation again.

    He said Ghana had not been active in the organisation since the overthrow of the Nkrumah regime eight years ago but the delegation's visit shod help rekindle Ghanaian people's interest.

    Mr. Hassan Hafez, who led the thee man AAPSO delegation, discussed the organisation's coming meeting in Baghdad. He said one topic would be the problem of African countries still under colonial domination.

    The other members of the three man delegation were Mr. Sindiso Mfenyana, AAPSO's permanent representative of the African National Congress of South Africa and Mr. Oleg Lissavalov, the permanent Soviet representative. Both men are based at the organisation's Cairo office.

    The Afro-Asian delegates also met Ghana's Commissioner for Foreign Affairs, Major Kuama Baah before leaving for Nigeria on the next stage of their tour of West African countries. They have already visited Cambia, Sierra Leone and Liberia.
