Background: In his inaugural address, the new social democratic Prime Minister Jens Otto Krag said (the speech was yesterday oct. 19th at 13.30 in the government building, Christiansborg Palace.)
"The minister of finance (Mr. Grunbaum) (first name Henry) will therefore to-day present a suggestion with a temporary 10% import-tax, which will restore our (financial) position int he period until the other provisions has full effect. The government has drawn the attention, that this step also outwardly is an essential and far-going step, and would therefore make it clear, that is's only a temporary arrangement, on account of the present situation (critical situation). It is therefore suggested that the extra-tax should be reduced in three steps, an finally be away April 1st. 1973."
