Background: The big Fury continues to be Plymouth's luxury car. Major appearance changes up front include a new grille, with thin horizontal bars....giving the car a low, wide appearance. The horizontal design is also carried through to the all-new rear end, where there's a bigger bumper for more protection. The Sport Fury, shown here, offers either the fasttop or conventional roofline in two-door hardtop models.

Among the changes for 1968 is a general upgrading of station wagon lines....and the addition of wood-grained paneling for the Fury Sport Suburban. For dirty rear windows, there's an optional wiper and
The 1968 Dodge Charger was designed as a family-size sports car. Exterior styling of the Charger is simple and uncluttered. Headlights are concealed behind "eye-lid" type doors at both sides of the honeycomb grille. A long hood and short trunk add to the sporty look. The roofline is semi-fastback with a recessed back window added for better visibility.

On the inside, instrument panel gauges are directed toward the driver for easier reading. Controls are actuated by rocker switches or thumb wheels. For the sporty car driver, a new model has been added -- the Charger RT, shown here, which has a rallye-type suspension. Power plants range from the 318 cubic inch V-8 to the Hemi-426. With its aerodynamic and competition oriented styling, Dodge designers hope the new Charger will make a big splash with the sporting set in 1968.
