    FRENCH AIR HOSTESS FRANCOISE AUTHIE DESCRIBES IN THIS SOF INTERVIEW IN PARIS, JUNE 4, THE PREVIOUS DAY'S ESCAPE FROM THE BOEING 707 CRASH AT PARIS ORLY AIRPORT IN WHICH 131 PERSONS DIED. ONLY MLLE. AUTHIE, 23, AND ANOTHER HOSTESS ON THE AIRLINER, SURVIVED. BOTH WERE IN THE TAIL AND CATAPAULTED OUT.

    SHE SAID SAFETY BELTS HAD BEEN FASTENED AND SHE TOOK HER SEAT IN THE TAIL OF THE PLANE AND FASTENED HERS. THE TAKE-OFF WAS NORMAL BUT SHE REALISED SOMETHING WAS WRONG WHEN THERE WAS A CHANGE IN THE ENGINE NOISE.

    THE PLANE SEEMED TO LOSE ITS BALANCE AND THERE WAS A SERIES OF BUMPS AND A TREMENDOUS NOISE. SHE THOUGHT SHE LOST CONSCIOUSNESS AND THEN FOUND HERSELF FLYING IN THE GRASS, STILL FASTENED TO HER SEAT. WRECKAGE WAS ALL AROUND AND SHE HEARD THE OTHER HOSTESS CALL. SHE ADDED SHE WOULD CERTAINLY FLY AGAIN.
