  • Description

"Expose of Boudoir Secrets Since Eve" is the title of this preview of new hairstyles presented by the Hollywood Hair Design Council at their Congress of Beauty Show at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, California.

To show the influence of noted ladies of the past and present, completely costumed beauties each revealed her boudoir secrets. Each lady, as she appeared gowned and coifed, explained the importance of her particular hairstyle in her influence over men.

Cleopatra (model Roberta Golding) is lauded not only for the first bobbed hair but for rollers and hair color as well.

Model Margaret Boone shows Jacqueline Kennedy's contribution to the 60's - the "studied casual," "easy" look.

Josephine (model Barbara Shawlee) suggested "get the right hairdresser and wear your hair like an empress."
The culminations of these styles are shown on the 1961 models - Jo-Ann Wade with "The Kook" (the beatnik moved uptown). This new hairstyle has a down and forward look, feathered and tousled, yet groomed. And Peggy Brown with "The Pandora", which is softer and straighter, gently brushed back, with a sense of cool elegance.
