AFTER SENTENCING KROGH SAID THAT HE THOUGHT AT THE TIME IT WAS THE NECESSARY THING TO DO. THE PLUMBERS UNIT WAS SET UP BY THE WHITE HOUSE TO INVESTIGATE SECURITY LEAKS AFTER THE NEW YORK TIMES PUBLISHED THE PENTAGON PAPERS WHICH HAD BEEN GIVEN THE PAPER BY DANIEL ELLSBERG.
