    The Head of the United States National Guard, General Winston Wilson, yesterday (Friday) defended the action of guardsman in the face of demonstrations on University campuses.

    General Wilson was testifying before the Scranton Commission, ordered by President Nixon to find a remedy for student violence before the autumn. The Commission, headed by former Governor William W. Scranton, was created in the shocked aftermath of campus violence following the American incursion into Cambodia. Four students were killed by National Guard bullets at Ohio's Kent State University and two by police fire at Jackson State College, Mississippi.
