Background: Hard-working, aggressive football earned Felham a 1-0 FA Cup victory over Preston North End in London on Saturday (January 5).
Fulham looked for goals right form the start, harassing the Preston goalkeeper Brown with determined attacks.
Brown made a series of heroic saves. But he was finally beaten just before half-time. Dowie took a corner for Fulham, Lacy headed the ball on and Conway scored with a header.
Panned back, Preston had to rely on rare counter-attacks, and they were never allowed sufficient attacking latitude to score and equaliser.

But Fulham kept up the pressure, and just before half-time another corner ended in a fine headed goal by Conway
