    DEMONSTRATIONS FOLLOWING THE SOVIET AND WARSAW PACT MILITARY INTERVENTION IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA HAVE CONTINUED IN MANY PARTS OF THE WORLD.

    IN NEW DELHI YESTERDAY (WEDNESDAY) MEMBERS OF THE SAMYUKT SOCIALIST PARTY HELD A PROTEST DEMONSTRATION OUTSIDE THE SOVIET EMBASSY. THE PARTY MEMBERS, ALSO MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT, ATTEMPTED TO DELIVER A PROTEST NOTE TO THE EMBASSY. HOWEVER, INDIAN TROOPS GUARDED THE EMBASSY.

    AFTER BRIEF SCUFFLES A NUMBER OF MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT WERE DETAINED. SEVENTY PEOPLE TOOK PART IN THE DEMONSTRATION, BUT ONLY THREE ATTEMPTED TO ENTER THE EMBASSY. THE REMAINING DEMONSTRATORS SERE KEPT AWAY FROM THE EMBASSY.

    IN COPENHAGEN THERE WAS ALSO A LARGE DEMONSTRATIONS OUTSIDE THE SOVIET EMBASSY. DURING THE DEMONSTRATION, WHICH CONTINUED FOR SEVERAL HOURS, SMOKE BOMBS WERE HURLED AT THE BUILDING. A NUMBER OF DEMONSTRATORS ALSO WENT TO THE NEARBY BULGARIAN DIPLOMATIC MISSION. THERE WERE NO SERIOUS INCIDENTS DURING EITHER DEMONSTRATION ALTHOUGH FIVE PEOPLE WERE ARRESTED.

    THE SITUATION IN STOCKHOLM WAS SIMILAR. THERE, THE SWEDISH FOREIGN MINISTER, MR. TORSTEN NILSSON, ADDRESSED A RALLY IN SERGELS GORG SQUARE, IN THE CENTRAL PART OF THE CITY. THE DEMONSTRATION WAS ORGANISED BY THE SOCIALIST WORKERS' UNION OF STOCKHOLM. THE DEMONSTRATION CONTINUED INTO THE NIGHT, BUT THERE WERE BI SERIOUS INCIDENTS.
