The Israeli security forces say the were the homes of Palestinian guerrillas, but Egypt says such violations threaten peace and security in the region, and damage efforts to find a comprehensive Middle East peace settlement.

The families sixteen-year-old son was being detained by the Israeli authorities on suspicion of being a Palestinian guerrilla. The family is claiming compensation, because they say there was a Supreme Court restraining order, forbidding the demolition. Through her neighbour, the mother of the family describes what happened.

Israeli officials declined to comment on the family's request for compensation. Another West Bank Arab family's home was destroyed in the village of Kufur Qallil.
