    The United Nations Security Council met on Thursday (30 May) to discuss the disengagement agreement reached between Israel and Syria. The meeting lasted only eight minutes and members will gather again after the signing of the accord in Geneva. The President of the Council, Mr. Charles Maina from Kenya, called for the next meeting to discuss the United Nations forces which will police the Golan buffer zone between the two nations. Secretary General Kurt Waldheim made a brief statement saying the agreement was most welcome and encouraging.
